The base of a Finift object is a copper plate to which one applies the enamel (vitrified powder).
One places then the plate in a furnace during hours at more than one thousand degrees.
With the following stage, the surface is painted with paintings known as "surglacurées".
All these paintings are of the powder state and the main difficulty comes from the fact that the colors will transfer with completely different colors after cooking.
It is all there the control and the experiment of the artist: he must "feel" and envisage the nature and the thickness of the layers to be applied, the mixtures of colors and nuances to use to obtain the desired colors and nuances.
After cooking, these colors wont lose any more their glare and their brightness, and will preserve their beauty during centuries.
