Russian nesting dolls

All the Russian Dolls that we present, are original works and represent genuine collection dolls.

 

They are not manufactured in series, but are painted in unit by independent artists or small workshops of the Serguïev Possad school (the most famous "School" of Russia) with which we are in direct relation.

 

Some are varnished, others are waxed, sometimes the finishing touch is matt.

 

The waxed and matt finishing touch are well appropriate to represent skin and fabrics.
Varnished one is well for traditional decorations.

 

It depend on the artist, the effect he wants to give and the topic of the decoration.

 

Contrary to the mass productions, a painter never makes two identical doll.
Even if sometimes it re-uses a model having gained a great success, each new realization is reinterpreted and comprises new details, new ideas, often the reflection of his state of soul at the moment.

 

This is why the Russian Dolls have a soul, reflect an emotion and transmit you a little of the "presence" of the artist.

 

It's also why you will never weary yourselves to admire them!
